A newly established writing studio came to us to create a brand and visual identity that could convey their studio tonality; one that pauses to listen, absorb, and craft narratives that are able to communicate their subjects’ stories to everyone.
A newly established writing studio came to us to create a brand and visual identity that could convey their studio tonality; one that pauses to listen, absorb, and craft narratives that are able to communicate their subjects’ stories to everyone.
The studio was named The Spoken Word- likened to the poetic performance art of spoken word, after the studio’s approach to writing and telling stories, in which they listen and absorb the stories of their subjects to craft a narrative that lets others understand the subject. By shaping and crafting its form, the logo type is presented with a visual composition that suggests an open conversation shaped and guided by the writers.
The studio’s speciality is about telling the narratives of individuals, and crafts their stories by maintaining an open conversation with the individual. The logo tries to emulate that process through masking the type partially, suggesting the crafting process of the story behind “The Spoken Word”.
